Lourdes Cue weaving landscapes, sounds, languages, myths and memory into a single experience

MSAB Cultural Community Partnership Recipient 2012

In 2012-13 I developed a piece at Franconia Sculpture Park that is part of a Minnesota State Arts Board Cultural Community Partnership grant. Called "Heading South," the large scale earthwork of a hummingbird is based on the idea of migration and was inspird by the Nazca lines, an ancient site in Peru that has incredible renderings of animals that extend for miles in the high desert plains. Eventually I will construct a corresponding piece in San Pablo Etla, Oaxaca, of another bird flying due north, which will eventually meet up with its Minnesota companion.
